Let’s face it, the only reason why we go to see the Despicable Me movies is for the Minions, am I right? Universal Pictures has just released an early look at the Minions TV spot that will air during Super Bowl XLIX. Not presenting any new hints on what the film will be about, this new teaser is still a lot of fun with all the Minion-y goodness you come to expect from those gibberish speaking yellow jelly beans with legs.
Illumination Entertainment has now confirmed that the Minions have no junk. And to our understanding there are no female Minions out in the wild or hanging around Gru, this begs to the deeper question as to how they reproduce? Maybe they don’t reproduce, perhaps they just live forever and never die and they’re always just around.
As the spot itself, it’s entertaining and lighthearted. I would suppose this is not part of the film itself, but why would they go out of their way to create all this animation just for a short 30-second spot? Could there be some sort of Minion gathering at a sporting event within the movie? There might certainly could be.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Minions courtesy of Universal Pictures:
Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters—from T. Rex to Napoleon—the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression.
But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he—alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob—ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow.
The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind…from annihilation.
Directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, Minions stars Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, and Steve Coogan. This film hits theaters on July 10, 2015 in 3D and 2D.
